Tax Summary
Realised gains/losses from closed positions
1
Which year, and how are you matching parcels?
Set these first. Everything below recalculates from them.
Years with a sale only
2
Your position for the year
Realised gains and losses from closed positions, after adjustments.
One page you can hand to your accountant, or copy as text.
3
Did anything change your cost base?
Only fill these in if they apply. Most people with ETFs will have AMIT adjustments each year.
Share Splits & Consolidations
Rescales the parcels you held on that date. Total cost base and acquisition dates stay the same.
Flows through to holdings, CGT parcels and the tax summary.
Cost Base Adjustments
AMIT statements and returns of capital both rewrite the cost base of parcels you held at the time.
Spread per unit across the parcels held at 30 June of that year, then flows into CGT and the tax summary.
4
Are you debt recycling?
Converting home loan debt into deductible investment debt. Skip this if it does not apply to you.
5
Every disposal behind those numbers
One row per sale in the selected year. This is what the summary above is built from, so it is also your working if anyone asks.

Alerts & reminders (saved with your JSON)

War Room
Two jobs. Use The Folionaire Floor to plan a position you
already hold or are about to open: how much you will ever put in, where you will add, and the point
you stop and cut. Use the rest to sense check something you are thinking of buying but do not own
yet: where it trades in its range, whether the business actually makes money, and whether your
reason for buying is something a results release could prove wrong.
⛓ The Folionaire Floor
A downside rule for one position. The Folionaire Ladder over in Exit Strategy handles the upside, this stops a loser becoming a disaster.
The size cap is the load-bearing rule. A capped position cannot ruin you no matter how wrong the thesis turns out to be. Everything else here is optional.
🔍 Where Is It Trading
Position in the 12-month range for everything you hold, and what a recovery would have to do.
🏢 Is It A Good Business
Blunt checks on profitability, returns and growth for one company at a time. Optional, and needs an Alpha Vantage key.
📝 Thesis Test
Write two or three triggers before you buy. Each has to be checkable against a number in a results release.
Bad: "the business deteriorates." Good: "revenue growth falls below 5% year on year."
Pick something that appears in every set of accounts, so you can actually check it. If a trigger
fires you act, without waiting for a price level.
Your trigger reads
Fill in the metric and a number to see the trigger.
Exit Strategy
Plan how and when you take profit, before you need to decide in the moment
Recoup Your Bag
Sell enough to get your original money back, keep the rest for free
Then what about the units you keep?
Once your original money is back, the rest is riding free. Here is where it would need to go, and where you might step off.
Laddered Exit
Spread your selling across several price targets instead of one
⛩ The Folionaire Ladder
Take double your money off the table, then step down through widening stops on what is left, with a target for the runner. After the first rung you cannot lose money on the position.
Built from standard pieces (recouping your stake, tiered exits, stepped trailing stops) arranged into one rule you can follow without deciding anything in the moment.
Trim to Target Allocation
A position has grown too large a slice of your portfolio? Sell it back down.
Planning tool only, not financial advice. Figures use your recorded average cost and the last fetched price; fees and tax are not included. Combined-portfolio figures convert USD holdings to AUD at the current exchange rate.
Life Check
Rate each area out of 5. Lowest score gets the plan.
Wealth Plan
Your FI number, the year you reach it, and whether super timing works
Projection
Balance in today's dollars vs your FI number
Planning tool only, not financial advice. Uses real (after-inflation) returns, so all figures are in today's dollars. The withdrawal-rate approach and super preservation age (60) are simplifications; your circumstances, tax and super rules can differ. Talk to a licensed adviser for personal advice.

Folder Sync (optional)
Pick a file once and Folionaire writes straight to it. Choose somewhere inside your Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud or Google Drive folder and their sync carries it to your other devices. There is no account and no server here: the file goes from this browser to your disk, and your own cloud app takes it from there.
Auto-sync:
Risk Flags
Two limits worth naming before you need them. A position that grows past your size cap,
or falls further than you planned to sit through, shows up in Needs Attention on the dashboard.
Market Tape
The scrolling strip at the top of your dashboard. Up to ten markets you want an eye on,
separate from what you actually hold. Prices come from the same sources as everything else,
and refresh whenever you fetch prices.
Market Widgets (off by default)
Adds an economic calendar, index overview, crypto heatmap and technical ratings to the Terminal page, provided by TradingView. Turning this on loads a script from TradingView, so they will see your IP address and any symbol you look up. Your holdings are never sent: the widgets only ever show generic market data or a symbol you type yourself. Leave it off and nothing loads.
Tips & Hints
Short hints appear on each page explaining what it does and what you have not tried yet. Each one shows once, then the set cycles again.
Exchange Rate (AUD/USD)
Used for Combined views, Wealth Plan and the Currency Exposure risk check.
Franking Credit Rate
Most companies pay tax at 30%. Base rate entities (turnover under $50m) use 25%. This sets the default for new dividend entries, and each entry can override it individually if you hold a mix of both.
Solana RPC (optional)
The public Solana endpoints rate limit browsers hard, which is why a wallet scan sometimes returns the SOL balance and nothing else. Paste your own RPC URL here and it becomes the first choice, with the public endpoints as fallback.
Free tiers from Helius, QuickNode or Alchemy are far more than enough for checking your own wallet. Sign up, create a Solana mainnet endpoint, and paste the full HTTPS URL. Your URL stays in this file on your device and is never sent anywhere except Solana itself.

Custom Price Proxy (optional)
If price fetching is slow or blocked - most common when opening the file directly on a phone - you can route requests through your own free Cloudflare Worker. It becomes the first-choice route, with the built-in free proxies as fallback. Copy the Worker code below, deploy it on Cloudflare (steps included, free tier is plenty), then paste its URL here.
How to deploy (free, ~5 minutes)
- Click Copy Worker code below.
- Sign up / log in at dash.cloudflare.com (free, no card).
- In the left menu go to Build > Compute (Workers & Pages).
- Click Create application > Start with Hello World > name it (e.g. folionaire-price-updates) > Deploy.
- Click Edit code, delete the sample, paste the copied code, then Deploy.
- Copy the Worker URL (https://name.account.workers.dev), paste it above, hit Test, then Save.
The code only allows Folionaire's data sources, so nobody can misuse your Worker as an open proxy. The free tier (100k requests/day) is far more than one person needs.

About
Folionaire v1.2 - Personal portfolio tracker
Not financial or tax advice
Folionaire is a personal tracking and information tool only - it is not financial, investment, or tax advice. The CGT and tax figures are estimates based on general Australian rules and may not reflect your circumstances. Before you rely on any of these figures, have a registered tax agent review one full financial year of output against your own records. What is applied: your chosen parcel method (FIFO, LIFO, minimise gain, maximise gain or minimise tax), the 12-month discount test with the acquisition day excluded, brokerage in the cost base, capital losses offset before the 50% discount, prior-year losses, AMIT cost base adjustments, returns of capital, share splits and consolidations, DRP parcels with their own acquisition date, foreign withholding tax, and deductible interest on recorded debt recycling. What is not: broker-specific parcel selection, foreign-currency conversion at transaction-date rates (USD sales are shown separately and still need converting), enforcement of the 45-day franking rule, mergers, demergers and takeovers, and anything specific to trusts, SMSFs or businesses.
What the dashboard pulls in
The market tape and Sector Performance read prices from Yahoo Finance and CoinGecko, the same sources as your holdings. Sector Performance uses the eleven SPDR sector funds, so it reads the US market rather than the ASX. Crypto Movers reuses the Terminal's top 200 scan. Advanced Chart is a TradingView widget and stays off until you switch it on; once on, TradingView sees your IP address and whichever symbol you load, never your holdings. Risk Flags are your own limits, worked out on your device, and nothing about them leaves it.
Your data stays with you
Everything is saved locally in your browser. Your holdings are never uploaded to a server or cloud account, and no account is required. Export to JSON any time to back up your data or move it to another device. Folder Sync can write straight to a file you choose, so if you point it at a folder your own cloud already syncs, your data reaches your other devices without ever passing through anything of ours. Note that browser storage is tied to where the file is opened from, so if you rename or move the file, load your JSON backup into it.
API dependency
Live prices are powered by CoinGecko and Yahoo Finance, with DexScreener used for wallet tokens that CoinGecko has not listed. TradingView market widgets are optional and off by default; turning them on loads a script from TradingView, which means they see your IP address and any symbol you look up, though never your holdings. News & Sentiment uses Google News RSS with a Yahoo Finance RSS fallback, plus Motley Fool AU for the market-wide searches, fetched through a chain of free CORS proxies (or your own Marketaux, Finnhub, or Alpha Vantage key if you add one). If these services change, go down, or become unavailable, any feature that relies on them - price fetching, Investment Overview, Terminal data, News & Sentiment - will stop working. If that happens, a future update will look at replacing them with alternative free APIs. In the meantime, Folionaire still works fully as a transaction ledger, CGT calculator, and portfolio tracker using your last known prices or manual entries.
